Department of Zoology

An Introduction

In the degree college pampore, the science stream was established in 2018. Zoology is one of the science subjects among it. The aim of the department is to make students aware about the animal science at graduation level for the progress and development of society. The faculty of the college is well qualified, skilled in experimental and research fields, works with full energy and zeal.  Apart from the teaching classes, the department inculcates the research aptitude in the youth in various fields like apiculture, limnology, aquaculture, physiology and molecular biology. This department is excellent in academic version and also offers the study courses in B.Sc zoology as one of the core subject which provides opportunities to educate and inspire students for pursuing higher education in many job oriented streams. Advanced equipments are being added in the laboratories to meet the current needs of the zoology students. Moreover the library facility is also well structured regarding the zoology subject. Zoological tours are also being organized to make students aware about the fauna of Kashmir. I hope that our department is and will provide dynamic, creative and trained manpower to join the work force, well prepared in the areas of zoology and its relevant fields.
