It is a matter of immense pleasure that destiny has given me an opportunity to lead Govt. Degree College, Pampore. Built on sprawling 12.8 acres of land, GDC Pampore was established in the year 2011. Surrounded by picturesque karewas, saffron fields and wetlands of Pampore, the college caters not just to the adjacent region of Pampore but also various adjoining areas. Presently, the college offers B.Sc., B. Com. and B.A. programmes following CBCS curriculum under the affiliation of the University of Kashmir, and is fully geared to adopt National Education Policy (NEP) based curriculum later this year as well. Accordingly, the college is at the cusp of transformation and the last ten years have seen expansion in terms of infrastructure- computer laboratory, smart classrooms, browsing centre, college library automation, a well-equipped Gymnasium, multipurpose hall, virtual laboratory, cafeteria and an upcoming laboratory block- and has been successful in securing the permanent affiliation for Science Stream.

At Govt. Degree College, Pampore our endeavor is to impart quality education by developing the young human resources with ethical, moral values and boost their leadership qualities by providing germane research culture. In an attempt to transform the college into a vibrant centre of excellence, the College also imparts Skill based education to students by providing various technically innovative courses. In addition, the college strives to strengthen the intellectual acumen, moral conviction, cultural sensitivity and personal discipline of the students so that model citizens of the nation are fashioned. Moreover, the college looks forward to being an institution of academic excellence by making valuable and significant contributions to society.
