It is my immense pleasure and privilege that destiny has passed me the chance to lead Govt Degree College, Pampore – the stellar and pioneering educational institute of Tehsil Pampore. Spread across a sprawling 12.8 acres of land, the college boasts of a stellar record in promoting and perpetuating a culture of academic diligence since 2011. Surrounded by picturesque kare­was, saffron fields and wetlands of Pampore, the college caters not just to Pampore town but also various adjoining areas ranging from Barsoo to Kakapora, and Nihama to Khrew.

Genius is one percent inspiration and ninety-nine percent per­spiration, Thomas Alva Edison, the great American innovator and inventor has observed. At GDC Pampore, this adage serves as our manifesto and guiding principle. We strive to create a communi­ty of students who excel not just academically but become ge­niuses of their community, serving as exemplars of community values, civic responsibility and collective responsibility.

Presently, the college offers B.Sc., B. Com. and B.A. programmes following NEP curriculum under the affiliation of the University of Kashmir. In the last ten years, the college has seen expansion in terms of infrastructure- computer laboratory, smart class­rooms, browsing centre, college library automation, a well-equipped Gymnasium, multipurpose hall, virtual laboratory, cafeteria, a laboratory block, hitech polyhouse, and smart board equipped classrooms.

Besides, in an attempt to transform the college into a vibrant centre of excellence, the College also imparts Skill based educa­tion to students by providing various technically innovative and certificate courses like Horticulture Technology, Media Writing, and English for competitive exams. For the holistic development of students, we also encourage students to utilize all the oppor­tunities provided by the college and remain involved in various extra-curricular and co- curricular activities in the college.
